GoldenEye Awards05/07 

The Golden Eye 2007 Awards sponsored by BT and Royal Mail took place on Thu 10th May 2007 at the Culloden Hotel. The awards, which are organised annually by Business Eye, set out to reward excellence in the technology and internet sectors in Northern Ireland. The evening has grown to become one of the best regarded events on the business calendar locally.

The Freedom Clothing website won the GoldenEye T Retail Award for use of cutting-edge technology to grow and drive online sales. The award winning Flash site was developed by local web designer Deadlyfingers.

Drapers Awards11/06 

On Wednesday 22nd November 2006 the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane London was host to the "2006 Drapers Awards". This award is the biggest achievement any retailer can have in their career. Equivalent to a Oscar Award in the film industry, it's a much sought after prize.

Freedom Clothing, based in Portadown Co.Armagh Northern Ireland has been awarded "Young Independent Fashion Retailer of the Year 2006" this is for all the UK and Ireland. Proprietor Kyle Salt opened the business in 1998, Since then Freedom Clothing has grown from strength to strength. Brands in Store include G-Star, Diesel, Replay, Gas, Fornarina and Miss Sixty.
Catering for both male and female the product range on offer is second to none. Salt say's “My customer's have a strong sense of self and with that goes a strong sense of style, they want clothes that meet real lifestyle needs, enhancing comfort and function”. “Our customer no longer wants a total designer look. They want quality and comfort and choose to create there own look by mixing products and brands using there own imagination.”

After re-lunching the business in February this year with a complete overhaul of the store. Salt also launched an on-line business that compliments the High Street store www.freedomclothing.co.uk offering a collection that can now be purchased 24/7. “I feel that technology will play an ever-increasing role in the way customers make there purchases, but I believe that shops will continue to be the main forum for the majority of fashion sales”

Certainly by achieving this award shows that Freedom Clothing has got what it takes to compete at an National and International level.
The Draper’s Judges had this to say regarding Freedom Clothing “Devotion to denim and all that goes with it - that’s what you get from this stylish independent business with big ideas and an eye for small detail. Owner Kyle Salt really loves what he does and makes sure his customers love it too, by adding well-respected surprise brands to the big-names list, plus niche eco-friendly labels.

In the tough young fashion market, Freedom Clothing has sussed out what sets it apart from the rest and is deservedly growing. Two more stores are planned in 2007. Also plans for developing niche online business are also in the pipeline. This Northern Ireland business has a track record of steady success that is set to bloom as it becomes more ambitious.
